This online workshop will provide an opportunity for participants to make their own iron gall ink and to paint a medieval initial using traditional pigments. A full kit of materials will be posted out, along with a link to an instructional video for making ink. The first part of the workshop on making ink is intended for participants to go at their own pace. The second part of the workshop will be a talk on medieval colours, followed by painting an initial using medieval pigments. (No artistic skills are necessary.)
